About Voluntary Action Highland

Background

Voluntary Action Highland (VAH) is a charitable company limited by guarantee. It was set up as a constituted body in 1996 and was incorporated as a company in 2004.

What We Do:

  • We support those working across Highland to develop a confident, effective and thriving Third Sector.
  • We work closely with public agencies across Highland towards these common aims.
  • We promote and support positive communications between the Third Sector and those with common interests across Highland.
  • We maintain up to date information on the Third Sector across Highland

Membership

VAH's membership includes seven of the CVS operating in Highland. VAH also has associate members which benefit from a range of VAH services. VAH through the CVSs have mechanisms in place for communicating with the voluntary sector. Apart from participation in multi-agency strategic planning groups VAH incorporates the following communication techniques: newsletters, databases, websites, Highland Third Sector Forum and mail-shots.
